A Bible Timeline Banner And Sharing The Bible

Monday, June 13th, 2011

Our Bible history timeline offers an innovative and creative way to help teach and clarify the Biblical Events of Jesus and characters and events.

Developed from our Bible study in 2004, the Bible timeline was formulated to show the events I was teaching on, in perspective and in relation to God’s unfolding plan, other occasions and people all through the Bible and Church History.

A Bible Study Timeline is ideal for Bible study leaders, home school teachers, parents or students interested in comprehending the occasions and plan of God through the Bible and history.

Discovered at BibleTimelineSite.com, it shows not just one, but two different time scales, showing the timeline of the life of Jesus Christ to give a clear view of all the events when they occurred. Key people and occasions are in big print so they might be read across the room, with lots more information in fine print. A Biblical timeline banner is not meant to be an academic masterpiece. While it does have much information, it was made to show perspective.

Our timeline also pinpoints many dates that are not stated in a dogmatic way and are debated by scholars. Even so, it is meant to reflect the events and individuals somewhere close to the right time period and in right relation to the occasions and individuals existing before and people who came after.

The Biblical history timeline can be downloaded as a PDF file or a MS Excel file from our site. People who do not have MS Excel can download Open Office and print it at no cost. It can likewise be used either on your monitor or printed out in a size that suits the user, being 5 feet long and folded up to be fitted into a Bible cover pocket. It can also be printed up full size at 12 feet or three and half metres long.

A Perspective Bible Timeline And Instructing Scripture

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Not long back I had a retired Pastor reprove me very sharply, for making some interesting points while preaching on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. He was very old school, and he referred to 1 Tim 1.4 “nor to be taken up with with myths and never ending genealogies.. ”

I quietly and respectfully asked him if I had said anything that was heretical or inappropriate to which he answered. “No”. I explained that this Scripture was never meant to exclude genuine enquiry into the Bible, but rather it was targeting the false philosophy of Gnosticism. But he would not have it.

This was a pastor who had laboured in the gospel of 40 years and yet he did not understand about Gnosticism and the problems that Paul spoke of in this passage. A congregation is not going to have much hope of understanding these things if the Pastor does not.

Tragically, a large proportion of pastors preach light weight messages, are so very shallow so that the congregation hardly grow in the Bible and interpretation skills. Pastors love to preach ‘moral essays’ and ‘warming affirmations’ because, if we truly ‘love’, others, this is what we will do.

Well, who cares if God’s people are falling through the cracks ‘for a lack of knowledge’ (oracle), what’s really important, is if we are very positive and ‘nice’ to everybody.

Let’s face it, the more ‘relevant’ we become, to the world, the less relevant we Christians are in point of fact, to the world. :o (

Our staple diet from pastors seems to be favorite topics and ‘feel good’ messages. Ministers preach on a verse from 1 Peter as well as a passage about a hero from 1 Kings; topical sermon from Hosea and then the belief in God of Aaron or the humanity of King David.

We preach a portion from here and another from there, but we need to put it all together in a clear understandable format.

Constantly we are bombarded with new publications and modernist ideas, some of them dangerously leaning toward Liberal theology. We are repeating history, but if we were to teach the basics of Church history, we would be more equipped to avoid repeating that history.

Let’s equip the Church in understanding God, His Great Plan and the Bible by sewing each piece together into a seamless beautiful tapestry.

It’s not a difficult thing to accomplish, we just need to put in some study and prayer.

John 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. (NIV)
