In 2009, the award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and Individual Achievement Comedy at TCA awards was bagged by the show. The awards for best lead actress in comedy series was bagged by the show at second Ewwy awards. But the TV show “Medium” blends these two, far apart worlds in such an astonishing manner that the viewers go through a spine chilling experience while watching the episodes of this TV show. The central character of this show is a woman with very strong will force called Allison DuBois. Apparently her life looks like every other happily married woman with three children and a caring husband. The lady is also an ardent student of law. But underneath this common scenario there is something very special about Allison. From her very childhood she could see dead people in her dreams. People, who have been tortured, deceived and murdered. They want to communicate with Allison. She is the chosen one who can give justice to the dead people whose cases remain unsolved. Allison has also the ability to foresee future incidents in her dreams and also an extraordinary thought reader. Initially her dreams make her nervous. She jumps to a wrong conclusion that she’s having some mental illness and turns to her husband for help. Allison’s supportive husband Joe is an aerospace engineer who comes to believe that his wife’s mental condition is just perfect but she has got a gift of supernormal power. Gradual twists and turns brings the story in such a point where we can see that Allison is working in the district attorney’s office as an assistant and using her powers to solve the crimes which are mysterious in nature and remained unsolved. Allison sees horrible and complicated incidents in her dreams and comes to know about the truth behind each event. A major problem crops up here, though Allison’s power reveals the truth but the legal system of a country cannot convict any person based on someone’s dream. Allison’s task intensifies as on one hand she has to inform the police about enough evidence to arrest a potential criminal and also has to provide sizeable amount of proof so that the person can be convicted in the eyes of justice.

All the characters in this show are portrayed convincingly by each and every artist. The main lead Allison Dubois is played by Patricia Arquette. Jake Weber plays the character of Allison’s caring husband Joe and Miguel Sandoval is seen as Allison’s boss the district attorney. David Cubitt acts in the role of detective Lee Scanlon who assists Allison in many cases. Allison and Joe have three children. The names of the first two are Ariel and Bridgett starred by Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark respectively.

One episode of Medium deals with a full story. The story starts and ends in the same episode so it holds the attention of the watchers. Some other simple yet compact things increase the attraction apart from crime and occult are the bond between the husband and wife. Joe is a complete friend of Allison, listens and talks with her about the experiences she is passing through which is a desirable thing to every woman. The children’s presence in the house makes it livelier as any other household.

This show is a must watch as the stories take sudden twists leaving no trace to what lies ahead. Fun to watch and good pastime, viewers appreciate it a lot.

Two brothers work here for the same purpose. Fighting criminal activities, but their modus operendi is totally different. The big brother Don Eppes is a special agent in FBI. His assets are his skill, dexterity and hard working nature mixed with his experiences. The younger one is Charlie Eppes who teaches mathematics in California University and is a master in that subject. The brothers are not so much close to each other. Don reluctantly asks his brother Charlie to join the bureau and he does so. Later on while working together the brothers share a good bond.

The show initiates just like any other average crime series. But as it continues the theme starts to reveal itself. FBI methodology of getting into the pulse of criminal minds and mathematical equations of probability are combined together to detect any crime investigation in a pinpointed way. Mathematical theories and practices are used by law and order departments to make the society a more better and peaceful place to live in. This confluence of law and mathematics is successfully working in practical field. The TV show is inspired from this fact.

Agent Don Eppes depends on his work experiences and clues left behind to solve the cases. Charlie Eppes calculates on probabilities and equations to get the bottom of any crisis. Both of them are excellent performers in their respective fields. Their divided paths lead to the same goal of catching the guilty person. The two brothers come at each others help with their own abilities.

As the most expected series “Lost” season six has been waited for many more action and class drama. Though now it failed to stay up to the expectations as it has begun with an unstable start which is most unlike of “Lost” series.

The third episode of the season which was telecast in Tuesday night “what Kate does” turned out to be mostly emotional show case of Kate and sawyer who reminisce their agonizing pasts and leadership under the leader jack. Though the series had a lot of drama it failed to capture the attention of the audience.

It all starts immediately after Sayid’s resurrection with Hurley overjoyed by the prospects and Jack seemingly puzzled by it. To Sawyer his resurrection wasn’t a surprise. Somehow he knew he was coming back. He thinks it’s important for him to go ahead into the jungle. So he marches off. Meanwhile, Kate follows him with other two escorts Aldo and Justin.

Meanwhile inside the temple sayid is wired up to a hang cranked battery by Dogen. Due to this sayid is burnt by the hot metal, which sayid used to do to his prisoners in Iraq. This is explained later by ,Lenon who tells that this is to prove that he is not possessed by evil powers.

In the forest, Aldo tries holding his temper as he convinces Kate that the survivors were not being treated cruelly rather they were being safeguarded from the men-in-black or the black smoke as they were called. Aldo still remembers how Kate had thumped him down in a move to flee the Other’s prison about three years back. As Jin comes along hunting for Sun, she finally breaks away from him knocking down Justin with one of the Rosseau’s booby trap.

Again returning to the temple scene jack asks for certain things to be explained by Dogen and demands for it. It is interesting to note that a slight line of humor goes under tone in all the characters of the show. It can be very well seen when Lenin grins at jack and jack says “did I say something funny”. For which Lenin answers “I doubt it. You don’t really have a sense of humor”. its cool and this is a common characteristic of most of the characters of the show like Kate, sawyer, jack etc.

Dogen tries to convince jack to give sayid a green colors pill, as he says that sayid believes jack and hence he only can make him to have it. Jack really gets puzzled by this and gets irritated and tries to have the pill himself when Dogen stops him. Later Dogen confesses that he was trying to kill sayid as he believed he was possessed by the evil powers. Jack asks him how he can be so sure of it. Then Dogen gives a great twist telling him that his half sister Claire had also been possessed by evil powers.

The show is mostly stacked with emotional scenes of Kate and Sawyers especially when Kate tracks him down to an Others compounds finding him sobbing over Juliet’s death. Kate can’t seem to control herself either. Even the flashback reveals Kate’s sorry mood. The only surprising element of the show is the return of Claire in the end when she makes a range of shots just when Aldo was about to kill Jin all caught up in a bear trap. What is she here for? Is she possessed by dark powers? What role will she play in the series? Check back next week.

Well, the show seems to be trying a lot of things of late bringing in new twists and plots into drama more predominantly than otherwise. While the series reinvention seems to be bringing new hopes for the sci-fi series, it’s not working so well after all. But certainly the show has a lot of potential to build on from the stumbles of the first few episodes. Once the general theory is established we may find we are onto something here.

The 2 hour premiere was indeed a good start to a buildup of a general theory bringing in new hopes for upcoming episodes but the effort seems dragged too long. There were avoidable moments in the show full of overdramatic scenes and extended subroutines aren’t effective after all. Eventually a sense of insecurity on behalf of the presenters dramatizing way more than it is supposed to be.

The show revolves around star gates which are basically magic portals which can transport you millions of miles in few seconds, left throughout the universe by a species known as the Ancients. The story unfolds when a group of people made to go through a star gate where they aren’t sure where they will be headed. It opens up in a spaceship which so damn far away from the earth that even the numbers are incomprehensible.

What’s left of the military and the research people now comprises the members of the spaceship along with few other civilians who are victims of unfortunate circumstances. The group led by Dr. Nicholas (Robert Carlyle) is on a life support system which is falling big time. The time is ticking and the only way out is to find a strategy to reach home before they get short of the oxygen supply.

The trouble with the show is that you have got to imagine the future events far more than what’s given early on. I have a feeling that things would get better in the upcoming episodes and the show would be able to put forth a Sci-Fi adventurous which could very well take the mantle of Battlestar Galactica. However, things are a bit awry now and there is a lot of effort being put up to set up the initial character interplay. Are people really mad at the only person who can get them home or people with guns in their hands? Really? Does military commander thinks he can boss around when he isn’t really there? I don’t think it’s working.

Even after all that the show gives a reason of hope for the upcoming broadcasts. Hopefully the show will provide fun and entertainment in the weeks ahead and come out with a better portrayal of the characters justifying the demands of the story.

The first few episodes of the season are kind of torturing for the audience but i would still recommend watching the show because it still promises some good contents for the audience in episodes ahead.
